I get the big "CLUNK" when it is cooler weather and I am coming to a hard stop (which is almost everytime I use the brake), it feels like someone has hit the floorboard under my feet with a hammer. Is this the link ends or most likely the front drive-shaft.
Nice truck! I will get a pic on by the weekend. After spending some time on FTE I think I am already Experiencing some PMS, it seems like the more I look the more there is.FTE has been great and the feed back has been awesome.
After the response I got I am not going to worry for a week or so and then I will grease it up. I am so glad I got on FTE it just saved me some money. So far I am extremely happy with my F250 and it has been a great truck and plan on keeping for a long time.
I'm driving a 2003 F250 V10 4x4 Lariat with the same clunk. I bought the truck with about 98K miles on it and it runs great. The magnitude of the clunk seems proportional to the amount of braking or accelaration and occurs almost immediately at take off and just before a full stop.
I greased mine this afternoon and I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about it working BUT it worked! I HAVE NO MORE CLUNK! THANKS AGAIN TO ALL AT FTE. The truck drives like a knew one. I am not sure what happens if you don't do anything about it but once I noticed it it drove me crazy. It was pretty simple as even for me a ROOKIE when it comes to working on vehicles it only took about 30 min. I followed the website that REDFORD listed yesterday. DON'T FORGET TO BLOCK YOUR WHEELS BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT THE DRIVESHAFT.
