Overdrive light question
Recently bought a 00 F250 w/ a Power Stroke. Yesterday I was going to make a heavy haul and went to turn the OD off and it had no effect the transmission shifted the same and the light did not light up. Is there a fuse that controls the overdrive that could be blown. It not a huge deal since the transmission shifts smoothly anyway just curious. Also could this be disabled since the truck has a 140hp chip?

The wires to the button and light often break where they enter the shifter handle inside the steering column. Remove the plastic cover and check the wires where they enter the shifter. They are probably broken or worn through. You can repair them or replace the shifter for about $50.
