When you hotwire the pump does it work fine, or does it come on briefly, spit no fuel and shut off? I (we) need more info. If it works good with a bypassed wire, then you have a problem with a relay probably. Find the relay that controls that pump, and replace it. If the pump is shutting off after coming on briefly with it's power wire bypassed or hotwired, then the pump's not grounded right, or the pump is bad. There's also a packing plug in the inlet on those. Was that removed prior to installing the new pump? I always test those for 5-10 minutes before I go through the hassle of installing them. 30% of the time, those pumps don't last very long.
