Well guys, since this is the BS thread, I'll BS about my hunt this morning.

Me,my dad, and my uncle went to Sherburne and first thing in the morning we heard a couple turkeys gobbling... my uncle went after one and me and my dad headed towards the two we heard in the same direction.
There wasn't much action, so by 8:30 I decided to go to another spot and my dad saw and followed.

As we were walking to another spot, we heard a gobble.
Headed straight towards it until if felt like it was 80-100 yards away.

Set out the decoys and got behind a levy. Gave a few yelps and withing about 5 minutes two turkeys came running. Took a while for my dad to see them, but they just kept coming, so they were about 20 yards away, did a little count to three and two shots fired while two birds fell.

We went get them, and the way they were gobbling and one was strutting, we figure at least one was a big Tom...

Well, turned out they were Jakes, but it works with me.
The both were about the same with 3.5" beards and about 1/2" spures

My dad and uncle will be going back Tomorrow and/or Saturday, and I'll go Saturday.

Hopefully we get a trophy Tom, but I'll take some more like this:

Used some 3 1/2" Winchester Supreme Elite #5s
My Gun: Benelli Nova Pump
Dad's: Benelli Super Black Eagle II
both with xxx full chokes

With those combos, it would be deadly shots at 50 yards, much less 20.

Good morning everyone!

Thanks Phil.
My dad's out there now, there's about 5 birds around him, 2 Jakes walked right in front of him, and he's working on getting a Tom that's staying about 200 yards out.
Regardless of what comes in on me Saturday, it will die.

It's a very very nice shotgun, but way way to pricey for me.

So.... I bought a benelli nova off a guy that used it for 1 goose hunt for $200 with a $30 sling and $25 sight and a gun case.

Matt, that's true. They are expensive, but they do shoot nice. It's the first auto I've had, I always had pumps.

Good Afternoon Phil..
