Not that I necessarily think you took offense to my post, but just to clarify, I didn't mean any harm by my question. It wasn't a personal attack or anything. I was honestly just wondering what it takes to be competitive in the sport. I've always wanted to buy an older model truck and give it a shot at the county fairs near where I live. You Know that's pretty much how I started out.I like to take my Dad to a couple of the local pulls each year, As we where sitting in the stands I told my Dad " Ya Some year I'm going to build me one of these Pulling Trucks " My Dad told me " you Told me that last year too" That's when the light came on, I've been "Watching my buddies Pull for the last 20 years" Gee if I don't get off the stick I'll be retired and still saying someday I'll build me one .
That's the year I got Into Truck Pulling.....And having the time of my life.
As for what does it take to be competitive.
In the Pure Stock Classes a good chassis Set-up and a good understanding of the RULES.
In Open Stock ,Super Stock ,Modified...... A thick Wallet a good chassis Set-up and a good understanding of the RULES.
