I bought a 1991 F-800 with a 429 lima engine. I was wondering if anyone knows how much hp and tq that these engines have. The only specs I can find says that the 429 has 365 horsepower, but I assume that this was the ratings for the ones that they put in cars. Just by seat of the pants feel it feels to be around mid 200s for HP. Thanks for any help you can provide.

 

Hard to find that info by a simple search. I found a "non-official" post saying 235hp @ 4000 rpm & 370ft/lb @ 2700 rpm. That sounds about right.

The 365hp rating was cars, and was for a high compression 4bbl motor, and was the old gross HP rating to start with. Although unlike some of those ratings, that number sounds pretty close for a decent 429.
