Cat Testing
Anyone ever try disconnecting cat from Y pipes and driving to see if cat is bad?Im sure it will be loud.Would this test be any good?

yeah, it works if you think you have a plugged up cat.

If you remove the upstream O2 sensor and drive , it will be quieter and show the same pressure reduction.

I like to test them by pulling them out and jamming a large screwdriver through them multiple times and then putting it back on

Just finished driving.Truck still falls on its face with more than half throttle.99 F250 5.4 OBD 1 no codes or light.

first thing i would check would be the mass airflow sensor. i don't know what kind of scanner you have, but if you have live data then look at your mass air flow sensor. try to clean it and maybe replace it. does it idle good?

I already cleaned MAF.Truck idles good and has good low end power just nothing over half throttle.Im going to check throttle position sensor next.Maybe drive with a fuel pressure gauge on windsheild to see what i have at WOT?8 MPG sucks!
