I put an 85 gate on my 80, and with a little coaxing the cable eyes will fit on the 80 posts. Another thing, unless somebody else posted and I missed it, my Explorer has the chrome handle.

Big F O R D Letters

Not to hijack the thread but I wanted the big old stamped letters on my 92 but now I'm thinking about just getting some decals made up, maybe even some shadows so they look like they have depth.

I've seen different heights and such so people don[t have to paint them just put decals on them.

85-86 tailgate panels

Based on this thread (Thanks!) I've determined that the two tailgate panels I have are from a 1985-1986 pickup. Which is great, because my grandfather's truck I inherited is an 85 base model. But I doubt I will ever punch holes in the tailgate to use them. I could either buy an extra tailgate or sell these. Any idea what these two pieces are worth? Pictures will be in my gallery. One piece of aluminum isn't completely straight, and the other has the plastic mounting pieces on the back damaged. What would be a good price to pay for a decent straight tailgate that I could drill holes to install one of these panels? Thanks!
