upper intake gasket (leaky valve cover)

I changed my drivers side valve cover fairly easily, which took care of the majority of my leakage. I get under the hood today to find the passenger side has oil all over it. So i need to change it. Problem is I cant find the gasket I need when pulling the upper intake. Can someone get me a link? I must be searching wrong or something.

Also any tips when changing the pass. side valve cover? Anything helps

O and its on an 89 5.8
Thanks
JAcob

Jacob are you referring to the lower to upper plenum gasket?I got the intake manifold gasket set and it cam with the lower to heads gasket, the lower to upper gasket, the egr gasket, and the upper to TB gasket...I got it from Advance Discount and IIRC it only cost 28 bucks...Sorry but I don't have the PN anymore.

You can get the plenum gasket separate from the intake manifold set, at least at NAPA. Here you go: $6 - http://www.napaonline.com/MasterPage...=Plenum+Gasket

I know at least 10 years ago (when I last worked a parts counter) if you went and bought a valve cover gasket set for these trucks it came with the plenum gasket as well.

Ford diesel tech here, 6.7 oil leaks are very common on all year models. Upper oil pan is normally the root cause but we have seen a few front cover gaskets fail that can be mis diagnosed as a upper oil pan leak. The fact that OP had to go to three different dealers blows my mind because the job is not very difficult. If your truck is leaking, take it to the dealer. Have them clean all the oil off the pan and have them add oil dye. The dye shows the exact source of the leak weather it be the front cover or the oil pan.
