I would recomend running a full tank through it until its below 1/4 of a tank and hand calc mileage. Keep your receipt and mileage figures and show the dealer.
If taking it to another dealer is out of the question, keep taking it back to your dealer and make shure they document it. If the dealer is too dumb to figure it out have Ford send out one of their "Master Techs", hell your from Michigan they wouldn't have far to travel.
If your problem persists and they can't fix it you may have to go after them for another ST under the Lemon Law. You have a brand new friggin vehicle, you should have no problems with it.
So I took her in for a loud brake squeel, transmission thrusting, steering column clicking, & bad gas mileage. She has been there 2 days & this is what has come of it as of yesterday. Well I got the call yesterday evening. They told me that there was a couple of major bolts that had something to do with the steering shaft & transmission that needed replaced, along with a few minor other parts. He implied to me that it was MAJOR and shouldn't be driven until fixed. He said something about the steering column could possibly disconnect from everything & it is possible that after a while I could loose control over the steering(whatever that means).
I asked him what exactly he was talking about & he said "I was afraid you would ask me that", then he basically him hawed around everything and said it would be a few days before I get her back. He said there was no brake squeel (my butt), and that they did another update to the transmission. So basically it is sitting there waiting for these infamous "major bolts & a few other minor parts" to get in and installed.
What the hell Ford, this thing has 6700 miles on it. PLEASE tell me I am dreaming! I certainly DO NOT feel safe with this vehicle at all now. Are they trying to take population control into their own hands or what?</TD></TABLE>
My 07 ST MPG is no where near what the dash says. My dash stays around 10-11 mpg, but when i do the math myself, Im getting around 14+. I do notice that if i feeling cheap and get the "discount" gas my MPG goes way down. I try only to use Shell, Sunoco or Marathon. As for the Tranny, I had a problem with mine and a buddy at the local dealer reflashed the tranny computer and fixed the problem. I do know there was a something wrong with the program.
