for the motor question- search in the 6.9/7.3 idi forum. THere are plenty of posts already telling you how to turn up the pump. You will need an exhaust temperature gage if you do it though, or else you will melt things. As far as the hub goes, unbolt the hub (I think there are 6?) allen head screws and the hub slides out. If it comes out and looks good with no metal shavings, you are fine. It will be obvious if it is stripped. If it is stripped, go get yourself a nice set of warn manual hubs, they are much better anyway.

Well i checked the hub out yesterday and its not the hub. Something in the differential is bad....either the ring and pinion or the splines on the carrier are stripped.I think! I can turn the front drive shaft and it will only sometimes turn one of the shafts that go to the hub. What do you guys think????? I can hear somethingclunking or clicking when i turn the front driveshaft...sometimes it will catch and turn the shaft but sometimes it just clicks or clunks and wont turn anything! Could it be the ends of the shafts are stripped or would it more likely be the carrier or the ring gear??? its I beleive a dana 44 independent front suspension u joints on the shafts out by the steering knuckles are just fine and both hubs are fine! Any suggestions on where I go from here would be greatly appreciated! THanks

........seem's y0u are going to have no choice but to come to just half to pull apart and pull out the front diff. from the housing and all; THEN, you will see more than likely WHAT the prob_culprit is for inside of this being the problem of doing a R &R or ???? whatever.........sorry to hear about's this & all, but at least you have narrow'd it down to this . . . . .
