Oil (Idiot) Gauge

SO when I change my oil.....I start the truck and the meter reads nothing for a second (like it should), and then jumps up to normal pressure......the article says that means I have more than 4.5 pounds and beyond that is unknown......looks like I'll be getting a new gauge.....

Oil (Idiot) Gauge

They had to of started that in cars, that article says that the 87 and 88 Ford trucks used the old system. I know for a fact that my '86 F150 shows what it's really supposed to because it flucuates all the time depending on how it's driven. The only thing I can think of in 86 would be the cars, Taruses and etc. that started using the newer instrument panels. It sucks that my 01 has dummy gauges, hopefully sometime someone will figure out how we can change it to the older system, however it's probably tied in with the computer and would mess up it's readings.
