Lower Radiator Hose

I just installed a new lower hose assembly. I haven't filled the system yet. I see the old hose had a long spring inside. Was I supposed to use this in the new hose? Is it really necessary?

I don't have one in mine ...no issues ....Your call...If it no big deal to put it in go for the peace of mind ....

The spring is to keep the hose from collapsing. Some hoses come with them and some don't.

I would recommend putting the spiral in. The hose will colapse after a period of time, meaning, more you drive, shorter time span. Personal experience.
