Being new to the Diesel world, I stumbled onto an o4 F-250 HD Powerstroke long bed with 34,000 miles and was able to purchase and extended warranty which take it up to 200,000 miles. I really believe that it offers peace of mind more than anything else. After purchasing the truck, I then began hearing the horror stories about the 6.0L. I really don't know what to think any more. I love the truck and especially love the fact that I don't have to change spark plugs anymore. After all, isn't it true that real trucks don't use spark plugs? Bully

WB, the first thing to do is to post your VIN and get an OASIS report done on it. That will give you the history of your toy.

I own an 03 with the 6.0. I bought it in Feb 07 and have put 31K miles on it. It's been back to the dealership 4 times since I bought it, number 1 was for paint sealant, number 2 was for warped rotors, number 3 was to have the dash cluster replaced, and number 4 was to repair deer strike damage...that's it. I too bought an extended warranty...now I'm wondering if I've wasted that money. So far, so good for me.

Hope yours is as good! Don't fret about the 6.0 unless you get a bad OASIS report back.

Joe

i own an 05 6.0 i have put over 40k on it and now has 73k. i have only had it in the dealer one time for a minor oil leak and no problems since. i love it and wouldn't worry but do get the oasis done. it will ease your mind.

I bought my 04 when it had 32K on the odometer it now has 95K took it to the dealer the other day to have new hoses, belt, trans. flush and filter changed, rearend fluid changed, bearings packed and checked, and they checked the brakes, and I'm off for the next 100K. I did get an Oasis after I bought it and NO PROBLEMS was the good word. I pull a 32' travel trailer with it and never have a problem excellent truck all the way around. Good luck, enjoy your 6.0 grin, and welcome to FTE.
