Expedition Transfer Case Question
Hello,
I have a 1998 Expy 4x4 5.4L and wanted to confirm if my suv has 2 transfer cases?
Also, is it a good idea to change the transfer case oil if I'm changing the transmission oil and filter? What type of oil should I use for both, Mercon V?

You only have one transfer case. Yes, do both at the same time since the t-case doesn't take long or much fluid. My tranny & t-case require mercon. Look at your tranny dipstick for fluid spec.

2 qts fro transfer case, so might as well use synthetic. I bought 'OEM' brand hand pump from Autozone that screws in to Mobil1 1-qt plastic bottle, made the job easier.
I replace the t-case oil every 10k to get rid of annoying whine under the truck.
