haha has anyone even taken a stock or mildly modified 300 F Series to the dragstrip? whatll it do it like 19.5 at 72 mph?
See sig.
one thing i'd like to ask all these guys who do crazy burnouts with theirs is whether or not you all have an LSD rear? mines a 3.55 open so that certainly helps in the wheelspin category.
3.08 Traction Lock, and yes it will tear them up pretty much anytime I choose.
You guys must have smog choked engines and LSD's. My 66 300 3:73 open dif. will turn the tires pretty well or, should I say did. 2 broken moter mounts, fan into the radator, twice, 3 sets of tires I now keep my foot out of the carb. I have not done a burnout in years. But hey, you'er are only young once and I've been known to leave a v8 or two at the light. The 240/300 has a bulit proof bottom end and can be rodded very well. 1/4 mile times should be identical to simmilar built 289/302--283/305. I know! I konw! v8s can twist I've heard it all before but cubes are cubes power is power whether the pistons are in a row or a v. 0-50mph my 300 wll beat my 360. Have fun burnning your clutch ah I mean tires off oh and stop by my tire shop.
My 92 could do one hell of burn out when the e-brake worked. I would put the ebrake on and just punch it in 1st then 2nd and i could burn the tires from there with no problem. After doing like 5-10 burns out and 195K on the drive train i burned out the clutch. After replacing the clutch, i have only did one more burnout which was on the last day of school which is a tradition ive done every year.
Mine has no problems doing great big smokey burn outs
Mine either. I got a video of my truck doing one, barely warmed up and being the first try. She could have kept going.. but it wasn't worth repairing the neighbor's fence.
how the hell did you do a burnout with the e-brake on in a rear wheel drive truck??
no wonder he clutch went lol
I just put the e-brake on and floored it. After doing 2-3 of them it burn out the e-brake on the passenger. After that i had no problems doing burn outs. It wasnt worth doing burn outs after i had to replaced the clutch and e-brake. What can i say i was 15 and stupid.
Yeah, the E-Brake is only rear brakes, which is why E-Brake burnouts work better in front wheel drive cars.
((As for someone's earlier post for doing 120, it's a lot more than $1000 for a ticket. My brother got caught doing 120 in a 75 and it was $1700 and he lost his license for 3 months. I'm glad I didn't get caught back in the day when I had my Supra. I did 140 in that before I slowed down. Now that I have a 300 Bronco, I haven't been over 80mph in a few years. Probably a good thing. ))
