trans swap
I have been looking but haven't found a answer. I have a 1997 f150 4x4 with the 5.4 the trans is going out and i am wondering if a trans out of a 1997 expedition with a 4.6 will interchange? Thanks Jeff

It depends which trans your truck has. On the blue tag in the driver's door opening under TR is there an E or a U? E is E4OD and U is 4R70W. The trans from the Expedition is a 4R70W. An E4OD would not be a direct replacement for a 4R70W.
Also, the Expedition needs to be a 4x4 or it won't work.
