Horn location????
Ok......this has got to be a new one for the board. I've had this truck for about three months now. Some idiot started to change lanes into me the other day so I decided to let him know I was there. Yep you guessed it, horn didn't work. Got home and crawled under the hood and could not find the horn, or even where it might have been mounted or even an un-connected wire. I think the previous owner actually removed it!!!! I called Ford and they said their computer showed it was somewhere near the passenger fender, but not exactly where. When someone gets a chance, can you see where your horn is mounted for me. My truck is an 05 F250 Diesel 4x4. Thanks guys....

If you do a search you will find some other threads about the same problem. Also check the air horn threads for where people are splicing in and they talk about it there as well. If I remember correctly the horn is tucked into some hole in some small compartment under the passenger side battery. Most people say it is not even worth trying to get to because it is such a pain. I could be wrong, but I believe that is where it is at. I will be hooking up air horns soon so hopefully if one goes out I will still have the other. Hope this helps.

superairdave - I've got a 99 F250 V10 4x4 and my horns (there are two for some reason) were actually in the passenger fender. I had to remove the plastic wheel well shroud thingy to get to them. And Bulldog68 has it right on the nose...it was difinitely a pain in the *** to get to...oops...a pain the butt...
I'm not sure if that's where your's would be located, but it might be slightly easier if you jack the truck up and remove the wheel...I didn't try that.
Good luck.

My 'O1 also had the horn problem and the horns on it were located under the passenger side fender and removing the plastic fender liner was a pain as Ballz indicated. On mine, I just took the liner partially loose and cleaned the connections to the horns and all was well for a few weeks. Then one quit working. It was such a pain to get at that I have just left it with only one horn for a couple of years. It does sound kind of weak though with only on horn working.

I'm not having any problems per se, it's just that my kids laugh at my wimpy sounding horn. Big, long-bed, super-cab F350 with a horn made for a scooter. I need to find it and replace the darn thing with something that is a more manly but will not get me arrested for using it. An air horn would be great for special occasions, but I need something for daily use.
