7.3 High pressure oil pump leak
My 03 7.3 crew cab is out of the five year warranty as of 2/20. I brought it in to the dealer, and they want to replace my whole pump and high pressure lines and fittings because there is an oil leak. The truck only has 40K miles. I have not found anyone who has replaced things this extensively for this same problem. In fact I was told a $14 o-ring kit would do the trick under a TSB. Ford has decided not to cover anything, since the five years technically expired four days prior to my bringing it in for service. Anybody with experience on this...your comments are appreciated!

you should clean the HPOP and inspect where the oil is coming from. Hopefully its just the line fittings, they are easier to change. If its not them it may be the large rear plug.
When my truck was running, on the fitting where the hpo lines attached mine was weeping oil. I replaced my orings and re loctited with a 11 dollar kit from ebay. The guy had free shipping too, if you'd like i can give you his username.

My HPOP has been leaking for past couple of weaks also. After digging around on this site I cleaned everything up and found the leak. It ended up being the "Do Not Remove" plug on drivers side of pump. Oil was running down from plug, underneath middle of pump and draining across top of engine. Plug was loose and I got about 1-2 complete turns on it. Hope this helps.
