Dale78; welcome if I havn't had the opportunity to tell ya earlier...
If or once you get the truck post the vin; the six or so digits on the end will determine if its a 67 or 68.
Put its no telling with what was initially type on the title once process.

The Vin is F10ACB45780 I ran it on the Vin Decoder it came back (Oct 1967.) But someone told me it would be a (1968) Because it was made after June of 67. I just don't know if theres any truth to it. Is there any way to tell them apart by looking in the cab? Or is ever thing the same inside?

Welcome to FTE

It is a 1967.

Where did you come up with the Oct 1967 build date (which would make it a 1968)? That's incorrect.

1967 serial number range: A00,001 thru B82,000

F10 = F100 2WD / A = 240 1V I-6 / C = Ontario Canada Assembly Plant / B45780 = 1967.

1967: You press the inside door handle forward to lock the door. There are no door lock buttons, they were introduced in 1968.

Because of the way the doors lock inside, the door shell and most of the internal parts are different in 1967 than the doors used 1968/72.

Do your doors lock this way from the inside?

If not...

Where did you find the VIN..on the registration, or on the Warranty Plate?

Compare the VIN on your registration with what's listed on the Warranty Plate, located on the left door face near the latch.

Ppl sometimes swapped doors due to damage, and forgot to change the Warranty Plate.

btw: Vehicle production usually begins in August for the new model introduction in September. So, in most cases, a vehicle with a build date of August or later will be the next years model.

There was a Vin on the door that came back to a 1970. But there was one under the hood That came back 1967. Thats way I was trying to find out if you could tell them apart inside the cab. Because someone could have changed any thing on the out side. I know the inside as not been changed.

If there's no inside door lock *****, it's a 1967.

There are other differences. 1967's don't have marker lights or reflectors on the rear quarters, or below the taillamps. The radio and face plate are different, so is the inside mirror. Speedometer is different, as are other dash parts.

The emblems on the side of the hood are diff too. The 68-72 stayed the same. Since 67 was a transition year, alot of leftover parts f 66 are implemented. For example the inside door locks were the same as the 66. The narrow front brake drums are the same also.

The inside door locks are 1967 only (C7TZ-8121812/13-A), as are the door shells and most of the internal parts.

1961/66 inside door locks are C3TZ-8121812/13-C.

The inside door handles and window cranks are 1967 only, the armrests are the same as 1967 Galaxies and Fairlanes.

Dale78; can't answer pic's question; I do know there's little restriction on things one can do prior to so many post. I beleive you should track the serial number on the vin tag & frame for series date. As Bill mention in the previous post; each year trucks run a series of vin serials to cover that year model. If your falls between those numbers posted by Bill; than I would say its that year model.
Bill posted A00,001 thru B82,000; you state vin as B45780; it falls between those numbers. "Number Dummy" is probably the best reference money can't buy! lol
Bill could write a book on all his resources in his brian.....

Thanks for all the info. I think someone as changed doors and maybe the bed. It as side markers under the Ranger. The heater control pulls out. I (think) they changed after 67. Ive been wonting a old Ford for some time. I just wonting to know what i had. Someone had ran it out of gas and my dad towed it in for the police. There was no papers in it or tag on it. Someone called and tryed to pick it up. But they said they bought it with out a title. And never called back. You have to show the right papers to get it out.
So we have done all the paper work so i can get a title. Just waiting on state to get
done with there end of it. They take there time.
