Sorry guys i know that i asked this quetion not to long ago and even printed the answers. i suffer from half timers desiese. anyway. a friend of mine just bought two trucks. both early 70's one has a 360 in it and the other is a 300 -6 cylinder. will the 300 bolt up to the 360 bell housing or will we need to look for a bell houseing . the 360 is dead and we wanna put the 300 in it. thanks again. Dutch
I assume you are working with a manual transmission? If so all you will need is a bell housing off of a 300 six or 302/351W/351C as these engine use the same bolt pattern on the bell housing. That will then bolt right up to your transmission. <O</O As far as the engine goes, the same engine perches will work just move them to another set of holes on the cross member. On my pickup and to the best of my knowledge the holes are already drilled, you just need to relocate the perches. Then the motor mounts on the 300 six will drop right in on the engine perches.<O</O If you are working with an automatic transmission then you will need to replace the entire transmission as the one used behind the 360 will be a C-6 and the bell housing is all one piece cast into the transmission housing. The C-4 used behind the 240/300 six and 302/351W/351C had a removable bell housing.<O</O I hope this helps you out.<O</O
Check me if I'm wrong here, but the 351c does not share the "small block" bolt pattern with the "W" motors. It is the same as the "M" and 385 series motors...
