I am looking at swapping out the diff covers for aftermarket chromed types...

To those who have completed this mod, what would i be looking at cost-wise for the parts? I presume the covers, chromed bolts and Gaskets (Or are the diff's seal up with gasket glue as opposed to a pressed gasket?)?

For the rear diff you should go with the 2008 Super Duty aluminum rear cover.

Here's one on Ebay... but you can get them elsewhere for less.

I went this route for mine... check my gallery for pics.

I used Royal Purple gear lube. It has the friction modifiers needed if you have a limited slip rear.

Do a FTE search and you'll find loads of info on the subject.

Check out these covers! If I was in the market for new diff covers these would be the ones I buy. These seal up with gasket glue like the stock cover. The chrome ones from them look to be $290.

Is that on your steed? I have seen those, however I have always been a black on Chrome kind of guy and so i will be applying this to underside, hence the chrome diffs..

Those see-throughs though are pretty cool!!!

The reason for original enquiry is that i came across a sale for chrome diffs and the prices are very good..
