Let me know if your still looking for the Ford Nav unit, I just took mine out of my 2 week old 2008 F-350. I had the Sirius with it so I don't think it would need reflashed. I was told that everything is tied to the VIN but I don't think that is true. I took the Sirius tuner and put it my wifes 07 Edge so she could have the 6 months free and it worked fine. I think it needs reflashed if you have different options, like the rear DVD or Sirius.

If you have a SAT ready head unit you can just plug in the Sat Unit and it will work. The NAV head unit is coded with the VIN# and it has to match the VIN number in the trucks computer. There is a tech bullitin on it. No match no nav... The radio, CD will work and so will the SAT, just no NAV.
Ask you Ford service advisour or just get the tech bullitin for the unit.
the GPS antena is located under the instrument dash cover in the center. GPS atenas do not need a clear view of the sky they use radio waves which go through plastic.
Also once you install the GPS head unit and hook it up you will have to take the truck to the dealer to have it flashed because the GPS will not work just by pluging it in. It works with your vin and if they don't match guess what you are out of gas... Just an FYI
Just read this post. Is the "pyramid" in the middle of the dash the gps antenna? I also have the hockey puck on the roof. Are the Sirius and GPS two separate antennas? I have a 2010 F350 without the Navigation. However, there is an electronic compass in the odometer & Sirius XM in the truck. I looked under the dash and it's connected to a square harness with 4 regular wires. None of them looked like a Coaxial cable. The 4 wires are bundled into a flat insulation cable that disappears towards the drivers side. I read elsewhere the hockey puck on the roof is connected to a module near the brake release. My electronic compass still works after I disconnected the hockey puck coaxial from the module. What the heck is this thing I'll attach a photo as soon as I figure out how to upload it.

Ok.. Finally figured out how to put a pic in a post. Had to create an online album. GEEZ... (If there's an easier way, please let me know. Tried drag/drop...didn't go so smooth)
Anyways, regarding my last post, this is the "pyramid" I'm wondering about...
This is in the middle of my dash at the base of the windshield. What is it & what does it do? Thanks
If you cover this "pyramid" with a ball cap or envelope, you will notice your "auto light" will turn on your lights. The light switch must be turned to "A". As far as I know, this is only a light sensor.
