I believe that Citgo is a Venezuelan company which supports communism and all that nonsense. So that could be what he meant by that. (Chavez said that the UN smelled like sulfur after Bush spoke there because Bush was the devil)
Hess is all AMERICAN oil and Shell get's it's oil from Iran
Gotta get it from somewhere. So let's drill in ANWAR. Won't happen in my lifetime, but hopefully in my children's. Same with refinerie's, if a new one were started tomorrow I will not live to see it comlpeted. Really lack of refining capabilities are our largest single problem.
And the oil industry controls how much refining capacity we have. If they want to keep profits high they keep refining capacity low by just not building new refineries.

Surely you jest!! The EPA will not allow anymore. The oil companies would love more refineries.
*Open mouth. Insert foot.* I still think that if the oil companies wanted new refineries bad enough they could get past the EPA. They've got enough money to bribe all the tree huggers into submission. If not couldn't they build refineries near the oil fields and ship the refined fuel here? You'll have to excuse me if what I say is totally stupid. I'm just writing as I go.
I've worked at both Exxon and Shell in Lousiana so I know a little about it. I was a union carpenter working on the cooling towers in the early '80's. Even back then management was complaining about how little capacity they had and their hands were tied. A new refinery has not been built for over 30 years. Jeez, there is oil all over North America and the environmentalists just won't let us have it.The irony of it is that China is going to come and get our oil and there is nothing we can do about it.
I still run LSD, It's polar blend diesel. I just run DK(white bottle) with every fill up and have not had a gell-up yet(knock on wood) or any other problems either. Plus, it's 15 cents/gallon cheaper than the other stuff.
Half of the pumps at the station(BP) where I fill are LSD and the other are ULSD Polar blend. I don't believe they forgot to change the stickers on half of their pumps.
I just found a Shell right near my house that has LSD and I was wondering if it is worthwhile to pay a little extra for it. They aren't charging more because they have it, they just are in a good location right off the beltway so all their prices are a little higher.
I think that LSD has better lubricating properties. That isn't even an issue. The process to get it down below 15ppm for ULSD dries the fuel out so much that it loses a bunch of lubricity. I just want to know if it's worth 10 cents (or more) more a gallon per fill-up?
I'm in the Same exact position, Thats why i asked. If its better for my injector o-rings then it may be worth the 10cents a gallon extra. Hmm.. this would be an interesting study to do.

Well then I guess the new lines going in at the refineries in the San Francisco bay area are just my imagination. Along with the $3 Billion expansion at the BP refinery in North Indiana. Just keep the oil here that we get and it may change things. Ask how many barrels out of Alaska go to Asia and how many come down to the lower 48.
