Safe MAX Pre-Turbo most say is 1250, the melting point of aluminum is 1220.58° (just googled it) so a quick burst of over that won't hurt. Post turbo is 900 I think, although MOST recommend monitoring Pre-Turbo, More accurate
but, if ur sensor poops out on you your turbo will check out. permanately.
Humm... sounds new to me??? Guess it all depends on who Drilled and Tapped the hole... I'd rather have the more accurate reading Pre-Turbo... Besides, IF it does take out turbo.... another reason to get a D66
excuse for a dominater..... hopefully in decent financial times.....if i talk technical for even 30 seconds the girlfriend will be lost and agree that i need it....sweet

Haha!!! The only Technical thing that my girlfriend can follow is when I say that I want Stacks.... To which she replies... NO! Oh well, Still looking for inexpensive 4" duals for the truck that will be fine too, no muffler shops around here can bend 4"...

that is true but if the temp drop you assume over the turbo is wrong you can destroy a $3500 long block, and $1500 worth of injectors when that melted aluminum takes out the nozzles! Turbo's are cheap then!
For the OP temps in the manifold 1250, over that for short bursts like the 1/4 mile, truck pulls, passing that Cummins or Dmax. But be warned damage won't occur from one time but many times over WILL crack pistons
I should have "to the OP (Original poster), manifold temps max is 1250....."
1250 is the max temps preturbo except for short burst. Short bursts are ok because air temp doesn't mean piston temp, air flow, fuel injection and piston cooling also come into account.
Post turbo temps....I don't think there is any safe temp. I don't feel it is safe to have the pyrometer post turbo as the link in my last post shows. The temp drop across the turbo changes constantly.
with stage 2s,17* tymar intake and dp. and bully dog chip will i be coming near 1250 or is it the HEAVY modded trucks that this becomes an issue. thanks, dan

yes you will have to watch your gauge! If that chip is installed your should watching it already!! Stock injectors can surely get hot!
I can hit 1250 with stock injectors and no chip or tuner, and that was only towing 5k. I'm not sure if that is where it should be but thats where it is.
