Any of you guys use a Fill-Right? Just got a Fill-Right SD206 fuel transfer pump and the thing makes a lot of noise when I used it. Is this normal? I talk to someone at Fill-Right about it and she realy did not seem to have a clue. I have the thing on a 275 Gallon tank and it works well but that thing realy gets me nervious with all that noise.
I bought one new 7 mo's ago it started making noise and locked up.Took it apart and one of the little brass vanes was broken.I took it back where I bought it because it has two year warranty, they sent it in and rebuilt it free.
both the fill-rite and the gpi that i have are noisy. you make check to make sure you have all your fittings tight and sealed so it isnt suckin air anywhere
All rotary vane type pumps are noisy by design. The vanes slide out to make contact with the housing as the unit pumps, but it should not be overly noisy. I know that this does not help much, but unless you have another pump to compare the noise to, it's like saying a diesel is noisy if you had never heard a diesel only gas engines. Also remember that these pumps will pump more fuel than a gas station pump.
