on the way to work last night the abs light came on. when i left work for home its still on, finally went off after stopping to fill-up. any ideas? truck is a 2000 350 crew, srw with 205000 miles on it. thanks for any help.
Anytime I have had mine start coming on and off whenever it feels like it, cleaning the rear sensor on the pumpkin, or replacing it has always solved the problem until the next time. Easy 10 minute fix. More likely to happen to trucks in the frozen north where salt is used on the roads.
I also had the ABS light one time and could not ge it to go off and come to find out it was just low on fluid. I had changed a caliper and did not realize how much fluid had leak out. As soon as filled it up with break fluid and bled them it has worked fine ever since then.

Similar incident for me. ABS light would be on when I started it on the sloped driveway. Drive a little ways down flat road and it'd go out. Turned out to be low fluid.
If your speedometer is not indicating speed until +30mph it would jump up and then my ABS ligt came on and stayed on. The probloem was my rear speed sensor.
15min and got the part from Autozone versus the stealer for a lot less.
