compression with Aussie Heads

does anybody know what the C/R would be on a 400 motor with stock piston's and flat top's i dont want to go to high because i can only get 91 octane here in Phx,AZ and i dont want my motor to run to hot. it already runs at 210*- 220*

THANKS

Paul

I'd swear this question is asked every week. Unless you have physically measured everything, especially the combustion chamber of a 302C head, you are only guessing.

Don't rely on what other people tell you. Learn how to use one of several on line calculator like,
http://www.kb-silvolite.com/calc.phtml

Read the old posts. A stock 400 (not a 351M) will not benefit from a quench chamber because there is too much deck clearance. A guess would be 9.5:1 compression using the Aussie head with a dish piston. Pump gas that is 91 octane may not be enough to prevent detonation.
