I am looking into putting a plow on my 06 F-150. Does anyone here have the Fisher MM II, LD 7.5' blade. If so how much does your truck squat in the front and how well does it push snow. I was going to trade my truck for a used 350 Diesel crew cab how ever they are outrageously priced up here right now and they wont give me ***** for my truck. Also if you guys have any pics. that would be greatly appriciated too.
I dont have a fisher, I do have a boss 7'5'' plow which i imagine would way a similar amount. My truck did squat quite a bit, i opted for HD springs which corrected the problem. Pics in the gallery.
How does it push snow...and how does it ride with the HD springs. I have a 2" leveling kit in mine and I was going to adda leaf in the rear just cause I tow a Buick GN in the summer months.

It pushes snow great, although i dont really have anything to compare it to but I havent really had any problem with pushing snow at all. As for the HD springs they arent bad, at first they were a noticable difference, and made the front of the truck race a little so it almosts looks like i added a leveling kit. The ride isnt bad and since i have had the springs in for about 2 years now i cannot tell the difference and am so used to it.
I run a fisher 7'6" rd blade on my f150. The truck plows great just make sure to put some ballast in the the bed. The front only drops abount an 1 1/2 inchs with the plow up. Jason
The Fisher 7.5' LD plow works great. I had one on my 03 F150. But since you commented that the dealer wont give you .... for trade in on your F150 now, be warned when you go to trade it in with a plow on it. You may hear the same BS I did with my 03. " It's not rated for a plow, there is likely hidden damage from plowing, bla bla bla...." then your truck is only worth 1/2 of the normal trade in value due to the plow... All BS, but don't expect the deal to be a good one.
take the plow off before trading it in. you will recoupe more money by selling the plow your self. and the dealer won't know you had a plow on it. Jason
Thanks guys makes me feel better aabout putting a plow on mine. However if I do put a plow on it I will prob. never get rid of it. I will just drive it til the truck falls apart. I dont know how much more BS they can throw at me anyway. I have an 06 Larait with 12,000 miles on it and they only want to give me 19,000 for it on a trade. To me its not worth it cause I only hae about 8 more payments to make so I will just keep it. I will however remove the plow if I do trade it. Also I dont see too may people up here with a balast in there truck I am assuming its for when the plow is up and you are driving you dont spin the tires all the time???
My plow weighs 640 lbs. I put 10 50lbs bags of sand against the cab and just leave it there all winter. The truck actually rides smoother and of corse has a lot more traction I can't spin them in the rain.
what are you plowing? just your driveway? I have had great luck with my Western Lightweight plow. I had this on 3 trucks, my '03, '06 and my '08. Weighs just under 275 lbs with the frame. Plows great, scrapes well, and doesn't squat the front end at all, and doesn't steer you around corners either. Your best bet though, would be to give me your GN so you wouldn't have to worry about adding a leaf
I am going to be doing a few driveways and some light commercial plowing. I am in the process of looking at a few SD's to see whats out there used. I have an 04 and an 06 in mind. It will be hard to get rid of my F150 and get something with more miles on it but hey it is what it is... I hear that same thing about my GN all the time.
