i may have a chance to get my hands on some cool super duty psd engine parts pretty soon for a little bit of nothing. i'm only looking at getting the turbo and HPOP right now since i don't know if the guy will allow me to get the injectors out of it. what would i have to do to mount a super duty turbo on my truck? would it even be a good idea to mount this turbo to my truck? with a OBS compression wheel of course. i like how quick the super duty turbos spool up and mine takes forever to spool! oh yeah and mine is spittin' oil from the EBPV and one other spot i can't quite pin point yet. so what do y'all think? any other small super duty parts i may be able to use on my truck that isn't hard to get off? i can't get the IC b/c it's probably totally screwed. these parts are on a wrecked truck right now and i'm not for sure that i'm going to be able to get my greasy hands on it yet, but i'm planning in advance in case i can.
6.0 turbos, i believe, aren't all that great. i think they have some problem's with them like the rest of the motor has. your probably right though, the SD turbo may be too much trouble... i guess i could always sell it for clutch money or chip/injector money huh? LoL. come to think of it, austin needs a turbo!! i may have to give him a call.
they said some jazz about wiring or something. and i think map sensors. the 6.0 turbos are supposed to be good as long as you dont lug them around and run cheap diesel like so many people do. theres so many people buying a diesel and running it around town short jaints and its hard on them in the long run. they never get the soot blown out of them.
The only y-pipe that will fit our truck is from an early 99. The IC will fit with some fab work and the pipes can used but will also require extra bends and fab work.
The injectors are larger but they are also split shots. I am running some as they were in the truck when I bought. Don't waste your time! Go with DIY stage 1's! The turbo other than spooling faster isn't worth the trouble. The only way its worth it is if you use a TN drop in turbo or a Garrett ball bearing turbo. But for that kind of money you can get a H2E and mounting kit and have a turbo that can go the distance and grow into a high HP engine.
well i might buy me a sd and start putting the parts on mine... lol i know where one is for real cheap... i could actually haul it to the scrap yard and get more money for it then what they want for it...
