clunk in rear end
my 2001 screw 4x4 with 115k on it has a clunk in the rear end when you apply heavy throttle, would changing the rear end grease and adding a bottle of friction modifier help

the clunk might be the drive shaft splines moving on yoke. if it was bearings or gear it would keep it up after you were moving. one "clunk" is the splines binding. there is a service bulletin to remove the shaft and lube the splines with a special grease.
