At least I know where to find a weapon at need, thank you!

That could be useful someday...

(You think I'm kidding, don't you?)

If there is a gun in a Superduty, do you think it would be hard to find it if people didn't post what was convenient for them for carrying it. There are only so many places to put it and it would only take 60 or so seconds to check every one of them. If I didn't post I carry it in my center console do you think a thief would fail to check there, or a rifle for that matter fits where (you probably never thought of this, but it's behind the rear seat in my crew cab).

If you left it in your truck - unsupervised - you are the stupidest man on earth

Carry ON YOU, at all times.

OH! Did you think the obligation ended with the granting of the permit?

DUMASS.....

I understand what you are saying. Here in Louisiana darn near every truck has a gun in it, thats just the way it is here. I think a thief would know more places to look then I would know to hide in.

I have a CCW permit in NY. It is illegal to carry in Federal buildings such as the Post Office or into schools. If in a pinch I need to enter one of these buildings, it is preferred, at least by me to have a safe in the truck to lock the firearm in. I have a Viper paging alarm as well. Also when I pass through certain states where the permit is not reciprocal, the safe can and will keep me from getting locked up in secure location down at the local hoosegow.
I do not advocate leaving a pistol or any other firearm in a truck, but there are times when a safe is expediant.

That's ridiculous. Leaving it on the seat, with the doors unlocked, now THAT would be stupid. But putting it in the console or the glove box, or under the seat, or anywhere out of sight in a locked vehicle does not make you stupid.

Suppose someone broke into my truck and stole my Maglite from under my seat, and then used it to bash someone's skull in. Does that make me stupid? NO!!

People gotta quit treating guns like they are some magical thing. And they've also gotta remember where to place the blame... ...ON THE GUY THAT BROKE INTO THE CAR!!! Geeez....

As I stated earlier, the reason for my original post is to see if anyone had any original ideas for the purpose of temporarily concealing a firearm in thier SD. There are instances where you might be carrying all day but have to go into a place where it is prohibited. I'm not going to drive home and secure my firearm and then head back out.

It is a shame that someone can't ask a question without it being misconstrued, twisted into something it was never meant to be, and invoke such a response to be turned into a political discussion.

You guys that have lock boxes. Where do you mount them that is handy, yet not in the way? Is there one that will fit in the center console?

Sorry buddy, the 2nd amendment protects my right to misconstrue, twist and respond politically!!! Just kidding Thanks for the topic though, I hope you got your question answered along the way.

In Ma. leaving a gun in a vehicle unattended is a felony and good for 5 years min.
Having a unsecured firearm in your house is good for 2 years if there are children in the house it is 5 years. When one of my guns leave the safe it is on me or locked!
You should have control of your weapons at all times.

In MA having a firearm is not a right but a privilege!
Or so they tell me.

OK and where do you put it when you pick up your children at school for instance? You see the point I am making?

I think that the best answer I've heard that will work for me is the driver glovebox.

So what happens when a criminal breaks in your house that doesnt have lock on his gun! Does he get an additional 2yrs. But then i suppose everyone in MA abides by the law so there are no criminals.

Those laws are crazy!
