I have the captains chairs, mounted holster to the side of center consol so the pistol grip is level with the seat cushion, great ona quick draw... strategically placed in case some idiot approaches the truck with a base ball bat, crowbar, or any other sort of life threatening weapon.

A piece of glass is replaceable, my life is not. I don't want to waste any time in the event a weapon is needed.

Now my question is, where is the best place for a 12 guage? Like to keep easy to reach, but cannot violate weapon length laws... i don't want a felony.

Mine is either on my hip or seat holster.. Found one awhile back that straps around the bottom of my seat.. Sets my weapon between the seat and center console so I can grab it if I need it..

Got pics? I'd love to see that setup.. My seat strapped one is ok, but I feel if I needed to draw fast it might pull and unhook the whole thing LOL

I thought bout mounting one to the side of my 08 console.

Will get pics as soon as possible, pretty much you go to ur local surplus store and get the hard plastic holster. You'll need to pull the console out to mount, but here's what i did.

1. with your holstered weapon, find where is the easiest for you to reach in the vehicle (bewteen capt. chair and console). I don't think you can get a revolver in there, mine is set up for a sigma 40, but you could get a short glock or maybe up to a 1911 int there.

2. Mark confort position, then remove the console. Make sure the barrel don;t interfere with the black thing (i think inertia sensor) towards the base of the chair

3. with your hard plastic holster, make a spacer (i used two .5" OSB squares about .5" by .5" ) I used adhesive and 2 small carpentry tacks to faste the spacer blocks to plastic. Then, use a small screw to fasten it to the console. If you use a dremel screw driver attachement it is very easy. you may want to spray paint black if looks are important to you.

4. reinstall and admire your work. Now your CW of choice is ready to go whenever need be, and if hell freezes over and the weapon is unintentionally fired, nothing is hurt but your carpet and floor board.

I do not have a digital camera, but the next time i go to the little lady's house i'll get yall some good pics! In the meanwhile, someone needs to brainstorm where I can keep my Saiga 12 in the truck

Nice! I carry a Sig P226 9mm, 3 14rnd Mags... I got decent amount of space between my seats.. Originally my 04 came with 40/20/40, I pulled the middle jump seat and threw an 08 Console in so I got that nice chunk of space

I'll give this a shot.. Thanks bud!

I keep my P226 on my hip but Freedom's setup sounds intriguing.

I don't carry - but if I did I'd want a crossdraw holster at about the bottom of my left ribcage.

With a second between the seat and center console.

Where I pack knives tho - that's up to your imagination.

"Where Do You Keep Your Gun?"

Pointed at your head, since you asked...
(It occurred to me that the best answer was that one)

(Are we done divulging our defences?)

In thinking about this all - I can't help wondering .....

NO DEFENCE is a defence if someone can look it up online.

How could you all be so gulled?

CLAM UP

That should have been your first instinct!

LESSON: NEVER discuss your household defence online.

AM I GETTING THROUGH TO YOU?

So - who knows what you have now... You've just told everyone, haven't you?

Good Luck.... (he says, disgustedly)

I keep mine on me. If I go in to the credit union or government building I put it under the seat then back on me when I get back to the truck.
