Question how long can you leave sea foam in an engine

I just put about 3/4 of a pint of seafoam in my gas engine. I am wondering how long do you leave it in for? It doesn't really state on the can and dont want to leave it in for too long and have it mess something up. My plan is to run it for a while then change the oil and add a fresh can to clean out the engine. She has 118K on her and want to try and clean her up some.

Also has anyone used it and have any feed back on the product?
I am also thinking about putting it in the gas and possibly the vaccuum lines as it indicated on the can

well this is what i do. About 1-3 days before i change my oil I add to crankcase. Then drive it around. Then I change the oil. Then I run some through the Vac on BB. Then I add to gas tank. I will tell just from my own personal exp that seafoam is a awesome product that does what it claims to do. I have never had one problem when using it. I always make sure i do the above mentioned before all my inspections/emissions. So go ahead and use it up. Just follow the directions on the can that way if there is a problem they will back you up.

If your putting the seafoam into the intake than I believe it says 5 minutes or so on the can.

If you put it in the crankcase with the rest of your oil you can use it for however long you go til your next oil change.

If it does what everyone claims it should do, it is like renew in a can. It is supposed to clean all internal parts depending on how it is used. In the crankcase (added to engine oil) it is supposed to clean all ports channels and valves that the oil comes in contact with.
In the vaccuum lines clears out all other intake ports that gum up over time, (if someone can walk me through that process I would appreciate it)

When added to gas it should clean all varnish and gums out of the fuel filters and injection system.

I will use the heck out of it to test and keep this string updated.

Sea Foam can be used in gasoline and diesel engines AFAIK.

You can add it thru a vacuum line to clean internal parts like valves, Thru the Throttle body to clean the cylinders, Thru the crankcase (engine oil) to clean lifters, etc, and Thru the gastank to clean the entire fuel system, Injectors, Injector rails, anywhere the fuel goes thru to clean deposits and crud.

It is an awesome product and I use it in all my gas engines.
Lawnmower, Chainsaw, Leaf blower, Both trucks and Wifes car.
I swear by the stuff and 7 bucks for a 16 oz can will prevent alot of future problems when used per directions.

In order to use this thru the vacuum lines, Just find a main vacuum line on the engine and disconnect it. Brake booster line will work fine.

I use an old shampoo bottle that has a squirter type cap and simply turn the bottle upside down to allow the vacuum to pull it in.

Keep the engine running at a high idle cause this WILL make the engine want to stall out and run very rough. Most times I simply operate the throttle by means of the accelerator cable or linkage while doing this.

You will see a very big cloud of white to grayish smoke coming out of your exhaust as this works thru the system. The smell is horrible but it works.

I will warn you tho, Neighbors may not like you if you do this in the summer when windows are open. Personal experience here.

I have added 8 oz to my fuel tank and allowed it to work that way as well. It does wonders to restore power due to carbon and sludge buildup internally.

If you look at the line of products they have, You will see Deep Creep, Similar to PB Blaster. Trans Tune, Similar to Lucas Trans products. and BugsBGone to get those nasty bug guts off your windows, grills, and bumpers.

I have tried all but the Trans Tune since I have a stick shift.
I'll be using it in my 83 Auto trans I just bought sometime soon.

Just read their web site is there anything this stuff doesn't do? Strive for world peace maybe....

I just find it hard to believe that it does everything that it claims, not that I am skeptical you know with all of the products on the market today and their outlandish claims.

Also how frequently do you do these treatments and are there any negative side effects?

I use 8 oz of seafoam treatment once a month in my fuel tank.
No side effects I have ever noticed.
My truck has 125K on it and I got almost 14 mpg towing a full size F-150 for 180 miles home this past weekend.
