Another 4x4 problem

Trying to fix this issue for a girl at work. It is a 2002 EX with a P stroke.

NOTHING happens when trying to put the truck in 4 high or low. No click, no lights, nothing. I checked the voltage at the T case motor, and there is nothing there. Also checked the fuses.

I did do a search for this, but I didn't find much about a truck with this issue.

Thanks for ANY help, this is Wisconsin and she NEEDS her 4x4.

A. is she married?
B. is she cute?
C. ok now we can help.

Have you checked for power going into the 4wd switch? If not start there. If there is power there, start checking the wiring harness for issues.

I had that problem a few weeks ago. Ended up being the transfer case motor. If it's dead it won't show squat for voltage.

I'd agree but I think he said he checked for voltage, I just assumed he ment going in. I don't think vac lines would be the issue b/c the transfer case would go into 4wd but the front axle wouldn't pull.

When you hit the switch and hear nothing it is most likely either motor or switch then. If you hear the transfer and still not in 4wd then it may be vaccuum lines.

I hear nothing. But there is no power going to the motor. Could a relay under the hood be the problem?

We'll need pics.

Of the girl, not the truck.

Where is the 4x4 relay located under the hood? I have a '02 Ex. PSD. i was looking for it as well because i have the same symptoms (no dash light, no transfer case motor noise). I still need to check for voltage at the motor though. I thought I could hear a 'click, click' a couple times then it stopped, almost like a relay cycling.
