Greasing Your (trailer) Balls?

I could see where someone is coming from with causing the hitch to slip off. I think what they mean is that the coupler could come unlatched easier. One would have to be a fool to not have a lock, pin or bolt through the coupler to keep it from coming undone though.

This post has so much good potential for levity. Some of the posts already made have been great. I DO grease the ball on my hitch. Metal moving against bare metal with no lubrication is never a good thing unless you are trying to create friction and wear.
