I have a Weiand manifold that I bought for $50. I would like to see how your have yours set up. Is yours something like this:
That's exactly what I have. You need to keep two things in mind if you are going to install it. Apparently these aftermarket manifolds are for cars and the fan/generator setup is off to the drivers side instead of center. Your fan will hit the shroud. We ran into this on my Dad's 50 F-1 putting an Offy 4 bbl on it. He decided to go with an electric fan. I was able to slot my mounting bolts and do a little bending on my shroud to work. He didn't want to do that because his is show quality, mine is far from it. Another thing as this thread was started on is the carb height. This particular manifold is much lower than the original single carb, so the linkage angle is very steep. This causes the linkage to not travel smoothly and not return to idle fully. I bought the short Offy linkage connector from Red's headers. I also bent up my own fuel lines, but hoses would be much easier if you don't care about looks.
I don't see that the fan post on the manifold is off-center? Cars and trucks stock manifolds are interchangeable AFAIK. Some manifolds (super duals) require offset mounted generators to clear the front carb, is that what you mean? Even on those the fan location is unaffected (again, AFAIK). Your manifold is not a super dual type, the carbs are offset to the rear to allow generator clearance.

Ross - here's a picture of my Fenton - different name, same game. It requires the offset bracket, about $90 if I recall, at Flathead Jack's.
But the fan is still in the stock location, right? That just offsets the generator. I hadn't seen that type, just the ones that bolt to the timing gear cover and the top wateer pump bolt.
We would have thought the same thing to but we ran into it on two F-1's with two different make manifolds. I thought it was really odd when we did my Dad's 50 with the Offy and when we called Offy they just hummed and hahed that it was designed many years ago and they didn't know anything about it. It didn't even cross my mind when I did mine until I went to bolt the generator and fan up. When I saw everything off to the driver's side and the fan hitting the shroud,I pulled my old manifold off the shelf and sure enough the stock manifold mounting boss was dead center and the Weiand was right around an inch offset to the right. Maybe we got two freak manifolds but it is what it is. They are offset and the tape measure doesn't lie. What does AFAIK mean?
I was wondering about the fan reposition but now that I think about it the fan position depends on the mounting bracket on the intake. I was thinking normal fan mounting, or at least what I am accustomed to with later model cars.

Right! That has been what I am saying. The mounting boss is not centered on at least these two intakes as compared to the stock one. By the way how do you put in your signature? I have been all up and down the edit profile page and all it shows is a check box if you want yor signature or not, nothing on how to put your signature in.
Hi, when yougo to the forum, there's a place that says "User CP", in the blue line at the top. Go there, and there's a link at the top "Edit Signature". You can put whatever you want in there, save it, and voila, you have it. Any problems, I can probably help
You have also chosen to not receive Private Messages - I tried to send this privately. That help to turn it on, also. I have always had mine on, and never received ANY message that wasn't wanted. Makes it easy to communicate with individual members. You might consider it.
You can get to a lot of edits on you User CP. That stands for User Control Panel.
Back to the intent of the OP, one of the best flowing aftermarket intakes was the Thickstun highrise PM-7. They are being cast new today but for high $$. They're high enough to get your carbs above the generator so it can be run in the stock location. Whatever Tommy did that made the PM-7 different than all the rest, the story goes that it worked.
I have an original that I have set aside for a pair of new 97's. I hope to get it on an engine this year.

Apparently that is my problem. I did go to CP as I am a member on several other forums and they are somewhat similar. When I go to CP I get

None of these have anything in them on adding a signature. I also do not have any options for PM's that I can find.
On the manifold I belive it was an inch, but I can recheck that if you need.
