I am looking for a 400M crank. If anyone has any ideas of where to try and find one I would be much appreciated. Or atleast give me an idea of what year trucks to look for and what model ie.. F-250 or such
if you're near houston, try B&M motor supply co. in Spring, TX. i got 2 from them for $35 (10/10) and $45 (std.) - i don't have their phone# but it should be listed. if you're not near here, call 1-800-555-1212 and get their toll free number. they sell stuff on ebay a lot, so they're used to shipping. ask for Danny or Mike.
are you near Houston? If so, i have a 400m with everything but the intake. It wont turn over, I think it got water on top of the pistons. but the crank case looks good, and is well oiled.
do you know what the casting code is? it's near the oil press sender, there should be either a "CF" or an "MCC" - i think there's also a "DF" or similar. if it's an "MCC" i'd also want to know the date code - the numbers & letters that look like they're on a riveted-on metal tag, which is actually part of the casting.
