I just found a newer TSB to that. It's 07-21-5. I am having the same problem now. I had my first pucking episode a few months ago. I went on travel and the truck was not driven. I got back and noticed the "Tea Kettle" sound at times when on the throttle or certian rpm. Then had a second pucking episode while driving gentily. I am getting ready to start towing a Travel trailer for this season and need to get it fixed. It is out of warrenty and the only places I can find that will due the work are dealers. I will be calling them tommarow for pricing and time on replacing head gaskets and head studs which I will supply.

Let us know how much they end up charging.........good luck!
I called the two dealerships I trust and the one gave me an estimate of $2650 and 2 days to do the job. The other said $2200 to $2400 minimum and 3-4 days for the job. Having a hard time finding ARP stud kits right now.

I just got my ARP kit off of Ebay, check there, I usually find people with up to 10 sets offered on there for around $400. Good luck!

That's providing that one or both of your heads aren't warped out of spec...since you are off warranty, they will likely tell you that both heads are out of spec and need to be replaced......
The removed both heads on my truck replaced one and replaced gaskets on both....I had the truck back in 8hrs from the time I dropped it off. They also fixed a coupe other small issues while it was in during that visit. I guess it depends on if the dealer you take it to has the ability to remove the cab or not, which I understand is the only way the heads can be removed....so why are they taking so long? Oh yeah, its because you are not on warranty. Just think all the shop time they will be charging you.
If I was you I'd ask the service manager to take you out to dinner or at least kiss you before you take that kind of treatment......
I can't seem to find TSB 07-21-5 anywhere. Is it on the Ford website?
I got a call from the dealership I trust and the did some diagnostics and found my head gaskets are blown. They are putting in the ARP Studs and replacing my EGR cooler as well. That should give my truck some long life.
third time is a charm. Meet the diesel tech. awsome guy, very helpful. also new service advisor. The old one was feeding me all the b/s. anyway got my tuck back tech. Said he doesn't think it is my heads b/c no signs of it being HG.
Anyway took it in monday morning changed out my turbo updated my comp. tightended some bolts and made sure pedistal was positioned correctly. Picked it up went for a drive with him. No noises at the time. The new noise was gone, (vibration sounding noise at 16-1800 rpm). as for the other whooo whoooo tea kettle noise it wasn't as pronounced. started it up this morning and it was still there. Apparently this noise can be heard more when it is cold and at normal opp temp. it could be heard but not as much. Today driving home the other vibration noise came back. Gonna bring it in when i get some spare time again to figure this prob. out. Anyone have any idea???
Got my truck back last night. Seems to be running great. My mechanic showd me the gaskets. They were blown cylinders 3, 4 and 5. Got my ARP studs instaaled, new EGR cooler and new power sterring cooler. That got bent when they lifted the cab as I have a cap on the back that curves toward the cab. Nocharge on that, EGR cooler was notleaking yet but it was suggested by my mechanic to do it now. Less labor. It cost just over $3,000.00 total plus $400 for the ARP stud kit.
How do you know when your puking? To date, I have not smelled anything that smells like coolant or burned coolant, nor have I seen any leaks. My coolant reservoir looks like it did from day one. No fill yet.
HOWEVER, my truck does make the tea kettle noise when under VERY HEAVY load.

A white spattering of dried coolant on, and around the degas tank is the sign of puking... Don't sweet the noise thing.
This subject has been beaten to death. The noise could be one of several things, but not all of them are malignant. If your really concerned about the noise, take it in for a diagnostic.

Your degas bottle would have white stains on it like this:
