is there a write how to gut this out completly i thought that i saw one a while back but if someone could point me in the write direction im thinking with my tax returns im going to get a non EBPV pedistal. thanks in adavance
I did the 1st option and purchased a rebuild kit from Ron who sells the 2nd option. Which reminds me, rebuild it if you're going to have it out any dang ways.
im planning on ordering it from ron since i get everything.. but what shoudl i have rebuilt my turbo??? and 2 what do i do with my actuator arm and my plug??
I'm just saying if you're going to have the turbo out then you might as well rebuild it. It is crazy simple. Just some extra bolts for the intake shroud and and intake ......name escapes me now....something plate. Then once you have the outlet off, a few extra bolts for the exhaust housing and whaalaa. This is the rebuild kit I got from Ron http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-...spagenameZWDVW
I now have no wiggle in the shaft at all. Which makes me ask, do you have any movement in/out or side to side at the intake side?
For the second question (I just re-read your post), if you get the stuff from Ron you're done. You will set your current EBPV Pedestal on the floor of your garage and let it collect dust. Right along side the old outlet with the valve in it. The actuator rod is part of the pedestal.
alrite did you send your turbo to ron or did you do it yourself? ill have to check for any wiggle in my shaft.. if i dont have any play then should i be ok??
Did it myself. No need to send it off. There are plenty on here who've done it. Here is the thread I started after research just to make sure I was ready. And even then I received PMs of cell phone numbers for help in case I needed it.
I sure am excited about my new up-grades even thought I am sticking with a stock turbo , but adding the wheel, and that new wastegate. Great folks down at Dieselsite, and I have only bought a Fumoto valve thus far.
What's nice about the non-ebpv pedestal, non-ebpv oultet, and the Turbo-Master is that you are spending money on stuff you can transfer over to the GTP38R if you ever upgrade. Money well spent IMO.
Never thought of that, but I doubt I will go there, but then again, you never know.
I am curious on folks that have been using the new wastegate, on how they like it.
I almost got the Banks kit, which included the big head wastegate.
so for the same price of a re-built turbo and the kit, I am spending about the same amout of $ but getting a re-built turbo, boots, gauge holder for below cubby, pedistal, intercooler boots, new wastegate. so I think money well spent. on and the wheel is also included in the turbo arleady.
