the bedsides on my truck are pretty far gone and was wondering how much should i expect to pay to have them replaced professionally. i dont feel comfortable trying to replace them myself as each panel is about 300$ and i dont have any body work experience.
also, idk if my floor panels are rusty but work case scenario how much would that run me.
Replacing the bedsides on your '89 should take no more than a days work at a good body shop. There can be big differences in costs at different places but I wouldnt suspect it would cost more than a few hundred $ to get them changed
bodyshop labor is 45 an hour where im at, my estimate book shows 11.5 hours for the right side, 12 hours for the left side for removing and installing bed sides on 92-96 f-150 with single fuel door (should be the same as your truck) then for refinishing, add 1.4 hours per pannel if its a shortbed, and if its a longbed add 1.8 hours per pannel, so if you have a shortbed, it would take 26.3 hours and would cost (here at 45 an hour) $1183.50... long bed would take 27.1 estimate hours and would cost you $1219.50, and then add the cost of parts to both of those...but keep in mind this is strictly by the book estimate hours, and i dont know where youre located at, but bodyshop labor is probably more there than it is here... most bodyshops only go off of the estimate for insurance jobs, you may be able to find one to do it cheaper... but if i were you i would consider finding a new bed, or doing it yourself... its really not that hard....
