vinyl on the door panels?
ok so heres the story, i have a 94 f150 Xl and i tried painting my door panels, they are starting to get some wear and tear on them and i want something that will hold up better
has anyone tried using a high stregnth adheasive and putting vinyl over the door panels?
im pretty sure it will work im just worried about how well it will stay on the door panels, since they are of course plastic
any thoughts or advice on how to move forward with this?

I watched a boy use a spray adhesive from a spray gun put suede on his door panels. It does work, You probably will want to use 3m's Super 77 spray can if you don't have access to a spray gun. I've used this stuff on stereo boxes to hold down matting and my cover fabric, it held up pretty well, but I had little contact with it.

We use Super 77 to adhere vinyl outcorner and radius beads to sheetrock. This stuff rocks and holds up well in the long run (been using it for years and never had a callback). We do shoot a few staples for good measure so if you can add a little mechanical fastening it wouldn't hurt. Stainless self drilling/tapping hex screws with integral washer head come to mind and, properly spaced, may look trick. Pre punch or drill the vinyl, you don't want to pull or gather it into the hole.
