Most are FT heads and manifolds on those. Low compression heads. It's is possible they are FE heads like BD said. But my guess is FT heads. Post the heads casting number. It's between the center 2 spark plugs. That will tell exactly what they are.
Well dont quote me on this..its only what I have read in the passed on some of the indusrial motors... Depending on the there Load rating will determan what heads were on it....But as mentioned the no brainer would be to get the head #s off the motor so they can be ID'ed...... the number is between the spark plugs \\ //
There are close to 50 different FE heads NOT including the high performance heads. Add about 20 more to include the hipo stuff. I beleive the FT heads had 5-6 versions.
For the most part they are. But some have slight changes that warrent a revised number. Also the early vs later in relation to port size.
Not always a revised casting number though. Parts number possibly. For instance the C8AE-H heads, there were 4 versions. With and without Thermactor and std 8 bolt exhaust plus the 14 bolt exhaust.

I was referring to change in the casting itself not so much various applications. But yes good point on the application changes.
i have a 352 out of a 63 galaxie i would love to rebuild to run strictly on lp and run it in my p/u. i was wondering what i need to do w/the heads. as i understand lp needs lots of compression. i hear that's why most lp converted cars/trucks in the 80's didn't impress the owners and most switched'm back to gasoline cause the motors at that era were low comp. i would also guess that's why diesel's love lp??
