man this really makes me mad lol i just replaced that damn fuel filter its like soo i just turn that yellow flap thing tho? right?
The yellow flap thing is your fuel bowl drain valve, so, yes, you just turn it to let the bowl drain. then unscrew the filter cover, remove and then replace filter, screw back down(paying attention to orient the o-ring correctly). close vavle, cycle key a couple of time till you hear the fuel pump turn off (about 25 seconds) start and then goa on about your buisness.
It is a good idea when you drain your fuel bowl to catch the fuel, and let it settle to see if there really is water in your fuel.
How cold was it when it spuddered on ya. Might have been trying to gell up on ya, I havent had it do it for only 3 seconds though, more like a minute or two then cleared up, or one time had throw some anti gel in and let it idle for a while.
like 11 dagrees out but i dont understand what the filter have to do with water? why would i have to change it im just curious ? now if i had water in my fuel wouldnet the ligth continue to stay on? longer then 3seconds and does it triggger the engine light

1. the water seperator is basically just a low point in the fuel bowl, all the fuel in the bowl is filtered upon entrance to the bowl, it is possible to waterlog your filter media.
2. yes,it would stay on, no, it does not trigger the engine light. that is why I am thinking it is an electrical gremlin somewhere, it just flashed, and the engine did not stumble.
