Ford F-16 MBRP Cool Afterburners

OK, I am grinning from freakin ear to ear, it is amazing how my mouth can wrap around my face!!!!

I got the MBRP XP Cool Duals installed last night in near gale force pre- March winds. It was do or die since the next few days is going to be sleet and freezing rain.

I don't know what MBRP stands for but it is the solution for turning a F350 into a F-16 !!! The turbo sound is enormous, almost anoying. If I get tired of it I will adjust the volume **** on the radio, this **** is the "mechanism" that fixes so many noises.

All that is left to do is install the SCT X3 from Matt and install the polished diff cover to help keep my rear end cool (hey I got a cool rear end!) while pulling 18-20K RV up Black Mountain, North Carolina.

Mine did and when I picked up a new dp from matt I notised a difference in power and noise(for the better)!
If you have it get an aftermarket! youll have a completly differnt truck!
I'll be on the lookout for it (hope I don't have it). The skinning of the DP may go on hold if that big storm off the coast makes land over the weekend...

Oz, good luck with getting that foil off your downpipe. I would rather by a new dp then take the time to remove all that foil. It is wrapped on tight and thicker then sh.. When removing my old exhaust the dp was a pain because of the foil and I was using a sawzall.

Be careful when working with the heat shield wrap, it has fiberglass insulation behind the foil. Make sure you have long sleeves and gloves to prevent fiberglass from getting in your skin. I followed my advice and still have fiberglass in my arms and fingers. - It itches like crazy !!!!!!!

Is the fiberglass just wrapped around the DP, or is there some adhesion going on there?

I understand the fiberglass irritation thing. When I was just a kid I'd work with my dad on the weekends doing residential HVAC work. I was the monkey that got sent into the fiberglass filled crawl spaces with the fiberglass wrapped ducting.

Like that wasn't enough exposure, I spent seven years right out of high school working in manufacturing environment that was predominantly a fiberglass molded processes with mechanical assemblies installed post cure via cutting, drilling and sanding fiberglass molded parts.

Boy do I know about fiberglass... It's all about taking a COLD shower after the exposure. Hot or warm water causes your pores to open, and the fiberglass particles to enter you body. Cold water keeps the pores closed and the fiberglass going down the drain.

$699 installed. Not too bad.

Shipping is only free on those web sites in the lower 48. to Alaska shipping is $299. I did get them to put the cat delete pipe in the box with the exhaust system so I wouldn't have to pay for two packages

There is fibreglass inbetween the pipe and the foil ffrom the DP to the cat. I had to drop my transmission mount and cut the DP at the bend (where the pipe comes doen from the firewall and turns along the floor board) In the process I exposed the fiberglass, I was suprised to see it and it eventuall got all over me while wrestling with the subborn DP still in the engine compartment. I wore heavy gloves and a long sleeved sweat shirt and still got it. That fiberglass is evil stuff it is worse than any household "pink" insulation I have been attacked by.
