strange leak on '94 Ranger

it has 240k milkes, so it doesn't have long to go, but there is a small rservoir, or box thing right behind the driver's front side mud flap, that ataches to he underside of the truck. it appears to be leaking some gra/black looking fluid.

what might that be?

it is a '94 ranger, at, 4.0

thanks

I've got a '94 as well. If it's what I'm looking at, that's not a reservoir. It's just a plastic cover. If it's leaking then perhaps you have a leak somewhere like your brake reservoir dripping down filling up the cover or your tranny is slinging fluid from somewhere.

the problem is the engine is tired too. 241k miles on her. i can milk the mileage out of fords! no, by the time i got everything fixed on this, it would cost more than just getting a decent two yo truck.

now it's down to second gear only! good thing i didn't get stuck yesterday...i was 150 miles from home

autotradrer...here i come!
