2001 Escape Service Engine light

2001 Escape Service Engine light
The light came on on my dash yesterday....I know it has something to do with emissions, but im not really sure how to approach this problem.....My vechical has been running bad ever since the light came on, its sputtering and shaking everytime i come to a stop and it idles really low.....like around 500-600 rpm's?? once in a while it starts bad, takes a bit
Anyone else have this problem?? thanks for any input

Well I got the code today......p0353
First off....Im gonna change the plugs and wire set( has to be done anyways)
Sounds like to me that Ignition coil on 3 is bad.....prolly gonna have to replace that...that sould do it

I have a 2002 4 cylinder 5 speed tranny the light is on to i had a ford dealership work on it. They said they fixed a return line from the engine back to the tank that was broke and said that it was low pressure system that had to have vacuum on the tank to run right. It was good for a while i had it checked at a parts house and they sold me a new gas cap and it didnt work. I guess the line the dealership broke again.
If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate the help it has 145,000 miles on it
