my A/C started cutting out today. it'll run for 5 or 6 minutes, then blow hot air. switching it off and waiting for a couple of minutes will get it blowing cool air again. then the same thing happens. I know it's not the fan.... could the compressor be switching on - then off. there doesn't seem to be a discernible engine RPM increase when the A/C shuts off.
Let me know what the final bill is, if you don't mind. I replaced mine myself for about $15.00. That means I should be able to spend the difference on Harley parts, right? Been lookin' at a set of apes..........
If it means pulling the whole dash, maybe think about replacing the heater core while it's out. How many miles on your truck? Harley parts, motorcycle parts in general, only us motorcyclist will pay 100 bucks for a little chrome piece of some sorts. Or 10 bucks for 2 cups of coffee and some sweets while out riding. Worth every penny....

yeah... you know HD stands for hundred dollars! this money was earmarked for new pipes (Hooker Troublemakers) PCIII and an Arlen Ness Big Sucker. of course, it wouldn't cover all that..... that's what the HD plastic is for, right?

I got you beat - I "fixed" the blend door on my '88 Taurus using .028 safety wire - took all of 10 minut2s. total cost - nothing, thanks to the Army provided safety wire.
Good job!! Except I wouldn't run around telling everybody I owned an 88 Taurus.....or requisitioned materials from the government for personal use. hehe! I thought about sleeving the blend door but when I finally got the broken door out I decided it wasn't worth it. There are times when its o.k. to buy new parts! Too bad the Army don't have a fleet of '99 F150s, huh? Still serving or have you moved on?
