The coil was replaced 2 weeks ago but I am still getting the misfire on that cylinder # 7 I thought if I replace the plug that it might make it better thinking that I might have fouled the plug by driving the truck with the missfire. I am running into this issue trying to remove the new cop to get to the plug that I think might be bad.
I do not have any way to braze and also I would be scared to death to try that next to the fuel rail. I do not own an impact driver and if I did it would have to be a right angle driver for clearance.
Anyone not busy this weekend? want to take a shot at it? Just kidding...
just to clarify, The cop is moving side to side but the bolt is not so it's as if the cop is not tight all the way down. So the bolt does not move at all. I was very close to just breaking the new cop off just to get it out but I then remembered that I am no longer 18 and I thought about it before I did it!! I'm glad I did not just bash it since then I would have had no way to work today and i would be out $ 50.00 to replace it.
I am also thinking that if it use a hacksaw blade and cut a groove in the middle of the bolt to use a flat blade as suggested, I am thinking that it might just round out the groove but I will have to ponder that one.

If you were closer, I'd weld a socket on there for ya. I ain't skeered.
I just remembered I had a 4.6 outside and took a look
if it is one that is fairly easy to get at it might work to cut the head off the bolt and remove COP then try to get remainder wth vice grips
the one I looked at is in a grand marquis and everything is easy to get at
From everything that I can see I think I have no ther choice but to either cut off the head or try to hammer it off with a chisle. I do not have much clearance I just wanted to ask before I did this does anyone know the size of the cop bolt so that I can get a replacement before I start? L+W I know it has a 7mm head
Due to the location I cannot get a drill in there ( I do not have a right angle drill ) nor a hammer to mark the center point. I still cannot belive that this has taken so long to take care of ( I do have to work from time to time! ) When the spark plug blew out of my wife's Expedition I had no trouble with doing a time sert but this one bolt on my SuperDuty has really given it to me!
Thank you !! I will try a hacksaw blade ( I'll have to make it shorter ) and will stay away from the chisle. Big Orn you are correct that it is # 7 but I have limited room and I have to loosen the fuel rail around it in order to get any decent room to work.
