I'd totally dig one of those headliners, but "speakers that will handle 10 watts of continuous power" - I don't think Walmart even carries speakers rated that low!
I couldn't find a good headliner for the life of me so I went to a place here called industrial paints and plastic and bought a piece of black(or any color) plastic sheet that has a profile like corrigated cardboard but plastic(usually used for making signs I think). I traced it with my old liner cut it out with an exacto and it looks really nice. Total cost....$6-8 bucks
yeah really. 10 watts what a joke, maybe you could call JBG and order it without the speakers and buy some decent ones, usually radios put out 50watts X 4 and i don't think those would hold up long if you turned it up past 3.
I have a dual core front speaker, 2 door speakers, and plan on using a couple rear speakers behind the seat......and that is going to be plenty. Why spend the money for one of those headliners? No really, they are pretty cool, but I wouldn't want those speakers blaring in my ear.
Heh, do you want anything more than 10 watts a foot away from your ear? A remote CB speaker I think puts out 4 watts, imagine having that thing next to your ear, can you say HUH? I cant hear you, HUH? 10 watts pushing the right frequencies can cause permanent hearing damage. I would venture a guess that these speakers don't have the best sound quality, but when tuned correctly with a proper system, will be plenty of sound for most of our stereo listening pleasures. (sound deadening will go along way in our old trucks to make the stereo sound even louder because it is not fighting the road noise to be heard.)
